Honda Fit: Clutch Disc Inspection and Removal

  1. Remove the clutch disc (A), the remover handle (B), and the clutch alignment shaft (C).

  1. Inspect the lining of the clutch disc for signs of slipping or oil. If the clutch disc looks burnt or is oil soaked, replace the clutch disc and the pressure plate as a set. If the clutch disc is oil soaked, find and repair the source of the oil leak.

  1. Measure the clutch disc thickness. If the measurement is less than the service limit, replace the clutch disc.

    Standard (New):

    7.25пјЌ7.95 mm (0.2854пјЌ0.3130 in)

    Service Limit:

    5.0 mm (0.197 in)

  1. Measure the rivet depth from the clutch disc lining surface (A) to the rivets (B) on both sides. If the measurement is less than the service limit, replace the clutch disc.

    Standard (New):

    1.00пјЌ1.50 mm (0.039пјЌ0.059 in)

    Service Limit:

    0.2 mm (0.008 in)
