For Some Models
NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Remove the tailgate lower trim panal.
Disconnect the tailgate cylinder rod (A).
NOTE: Check for damaged or stress-whitened rod fastener (B).
Remove the bolts securing the lock cylinder (A), then remove the lock cylinder by turning it.
Install the lock cylinder in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
Make sure the cylinder rod is connected properly.
Make sure the tailgate opens properly and locks securely.
