When compressing the damper spring, use a commercially available strut spring compressor (Branick MST-580A or Model 7200, or equivalent) according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Before disconnecting fuel lines or hoses, relieve pressure from the system by
disabling the fuel pump and disconnecting the fuel line/quick connect fitting in
the engine compartment.
