Honda Fit: Rear Brake Hose Replacement

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

  1. Remove the rear wheel.

  1. Disconnect the brake hose (A) from the brake line (B) using a 10 mm flare-nut wrench (C).

  2. ABC
  1. Remove the brake hose clips (A) from the brake hose (B).

  2. ABCCA
  3. Remove the brake hose from the brake hose brackets (C).

  1. Insert the brake hose (A) through the brake hose brackets (B).

  2. BBA
  1. Connect the brake line (A) to the brake hose (B) loosely.

  2. D10 x 1.0 mm15 N·m(1.5 kgf·m,11 lbf·ft)ABCReplace.
  3. Install the new brake hose clips (C) on the brake hose.

  4. Tighten the 10 mm flare nut (D) to the specified torque.

  5. After installing the brake hose, bleed the brake system.

  6. Do the following checks:

    • Check the brake hose and line joint for leaks, and tighten if necessary.

    • Check the brake hoses for interference and twisting.

  7. Clean the mating surfaces between the brake drum and the inside of the wheel, then install the rear wheel.
